Parents are always welcome in the school. An appointment is not always needed to see the Headteacher but a school is a busy place and you may have to wait for the Head to be free. An appointment is advisable for anything that will take more than a few minutes.

 

Our teachers are available at the end of each school day to talk over minor issues. If you wish to discuss anything for more than a few minutes please make an appointment through the school office or speak directly to the teacher to arrange a mutually convenient time.

 

In addition, parents can be involved in the school in numerous other ways, for example helping on school trips, listening to reading, working with groups, outdoor games activities, making games etc. and new skills and enthusiasms are very welcome.

 

Every Friday we hold an open assembly, where we celebrate the cchildren's achievements in class. We also have a Friday coffee morning each week. This is a great way to get to know each other and is very informal. The coffee is free and we have a range of toys for our youngest children to play with. Feel free to come along any week, we would be pleased to see you.

 

We value parents’ opinions and input into the running of the school, and we have established an open Parents’ Forum, who meet with the Headteacher each month to discuss a wide range of issues. This provides a link between the parents and the school and helps good communication to be maintained. The patent reps from each class are always encouraged to come along to represent the views of other parents but we also have many parents dropping in to join the discussion and share their opinions. Feel free to join us on the first Tuesday of every month in the dining hall.

 

We have produced a booklet for parents with details of how to get involved with the many aspects of school life. Whether you want to listen to readers, accompany a class trip, weed the garden, dig the allotment or play board games with the children, we would love to hear from you. Every helper has a police check to maintain our high standards of safety for the children.

 

Although, we welcome visitors to our school, we will act to ensure that it remains a safe place for pupils, staff and other members of our community, if you threaten or assault anyone in the school, or persist in abusive behaviour, you will be asked to leave the premises and may be prosecuted.
